Online Islamic courses from the comfort of your home

Updated: Jun 10, 2023

Elana Muslimah offers various online islamic courses , both for children and also for adult Muslimah. We continuously strive to make our things better for you. Lets begin with the name of Allah, Who Revealed to His Prophet Muhammadﷺ in the cave of Hira the very first verse

اقْرَ‌أْ بِاسْمِ رَ‌بِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ

[Read! (O Prophet) In the Name of your Lord Who Created). Islam stresses a lot on knowledge. And knowledge here particularly means the knowledge about religion. Absolutely it doesn’t mean or imply that academic or worldly education and knowledge don’t have any importance or significance. In fact, if you are pursuing your education with the intention of helping your muslim community through your degree and expertise in that field, that can not only gain you worldly benefits but also great rewards in the hereafter biidhnillah.

How amazing is that! But here the stress is on knowledge about deen in particular, because when it comes to priorities, our priority should be our deen, and our concern and efforts for our akhirah should outweigh the ones which we have for this temporary duniya.

A woman doing ibadah

As the hadith says, Anas ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

طَلَبُ الْعِلْمِ فَرِيضَةٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ

“Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim.”

Knowledge is the base of actions. I mean, how can we act in accordance with the Quran and Sunnah if we don’t have knowledge about it? Every action of ours stems from knowledge whether it is the times of prayer, the command to fast or, the verses we read in the Quran, etc..

Seeking knowledge is also the means to attain various rewards in the hereafter. The path to Paradise is made easy for the one who travels to seek knowledge.

“Verily, the angels lower their wings for the seeker of knowledge. The inhabitants of the heavens and earth, even the fish in the depths of the water, seek forgiveness for the scholar. The virtue of the scholar over the worshiper is like the superiority of the moon over the stars. The scholars are the inheritors of the Prophets. They do not leave behind gold or silver coins, but rather they leave behind knowledge. Whoever has taken hold of it has been given an abundant share.”

“Whoever travels a path in search of knowledge, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise. People do not gather in the houses of Allah, reciting the book of Allah and

studying it together, but that tranquility will descend upon them, mercy will cover them, angels will surround them, and Allah will mention them to those near him.”

Ettiqutes of Online Islamic Courses

I think it is important to clarify here that the knowledge should be taken in the light of correct understanding, and should be taken from the authentic and trusted

scholars and sources. As knowledge is the foundation of our actions and also our belief system like our tawheed and aqeedah, where we take it from becomes really important. It shouldn’t be any unverified tiktok scholar or one with deviant belief system. And also one more thing is that our hearts should be open and humble enough to gain and accept the right knowledge and understanding and the ability to act upon that knowledge.

Moving further, our knowledge is not only a means for our own benefit, but can also be means of khair (goodness) for others and extendedly for us, by the Grace of Allah.

“Whoever calls to guidance will have a reward similar to those who follow him, without detracting from their rewards at all. Whoever calls to misguidance will have sin upon him similar to those who follow him, without detracting from their sins at all.”

One can learn the deen of Allah from the comfort of their homes

Lastly, knowledge is one such thing which can and will leave its effects and rewards even after we have died In sha’ Allah. It will continue to pass on as our legacy and a sadaqa jaariyah (continuous charity) for us, if we leave it behind with that intention, because our actions are by our intentions

(Refer to hadith 1, Sahih al-Bukhari). [1]

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah saw, said:

إِذَا مَاتَ الْإِنْسَانُ انْقَطَعَ عَنْهُ عَمَلُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ ثَلَاثَةٍ إِلَّا مِنْ صَدَقَةٍ جَارِيَةٍ أَوْ
عِلْمٍ يُنْتَفَعُ بِهِ أَوْ وَلَدٍ صَالِحٍ يَدْعُو لَهُ

When the human being dies, his deeds end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him.

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said (translation)

"Whoever seeks knowledge that should be sought for the sake of Allah Almighty, but only to gain some worldly benefit, he will never know the fragrance Paradise on the Day of Resurrection."

Source: Sunan Abī Dāwūd 3664, Grade: Sahih

The virtues and importance of knowledge are many, and the dangers of not seeking is ignorance and losing out on so many benefits and rewards. And ignorance is not a bliss, let me tell you, it is just a loss.

May Allah Make us of those whom He Blesses with the correct knowledge and understanding about His religion and May He make us means of khair and beneficial knowledge for others. And may our hearts be humbled enough to receive, accept, and act upon beneficial knowledge in the light of correct understanding.
